Not Just Movies and Popcorn
Covey means family. In our region, a covey of quail is highly coveted and protected. It is because of our desire to support the children in our area that the name Covey Film Festival was selected. All proceeds from the Covey Film Festival benefit the Thomasville Community Resource Center which serves over 500 children in the region, providing after-school academic support along with summer enrichment programs. These children are the future and we are a part of their family.
The Covey Film Festival's mission is to promote independent films and filmmakers to the Red Hills Region of Southwest Georgia and North Florida. We screen films that relate to nature, community and caring—all representative of the great conservation efforts of the region. This marks our sixth year and we are excited to see the increased interest and participation.
