Covey Film Festival will screen the documentary “Jane Fonda in Five Acts” on Tuesday, May 14 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. The event begins with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by the screening at 7.
A highlight of the evening will be a Skype discussion with Jane Fonda. Audience members will be allowed to submit questions to Jane for discussion.
Fonda lived in the Thomasville area for 10 years during her marriage to Ted Turner. During that time she worked with community leaders concerned about issues facing youth here to start the Thomasville Community Resource Center which now serves 500-plus children in its programs across Thomas, Mitchell and Grady counties. She continues to be a donor to TCRC and is recognized as a board member emeritus. Additionally, she serves as the honorary chair of the Covey Film Festival.
This documentary filmed by Susan Lacy, goes to the heart of who Fonda is: Her vulnerability, magnetism, naivete and commitment to women and children. It includes interviews with Ted Turner, Robert Redford and Lily Tomlin, among others.
